Slacker

I thought I'd admit I've been a total Slacker lately. I haven't worked out since Wednesday or maybe Tuesday, I can't remember. I feel guilty, and need to somehow get my motivation back.  I have many  excuses though, I've been getting these horrible headaches(I'm starting to think maybe they are related to my period I'll have to pay attention next month) and I've been stressed.  I know exercising can make you feel better, but I've been so tired lately I just couldn't motivate myself to do it.  Today I actually took a nap, which is rare occasion. I usually can't get everyone to sleep at the same time, but I did today by napping with Rory and bribing Liam.  Is it bad I told my 3 year old we could go to the park if he napped? Then I felt bad because we never went because Declan woke up with a 104 temperature and Liam forgot about the park, so I didn't bring it up. I'll make it up to him though.
I have also been slacking on cutting coupons. I've done it for toiletries or when I see a good deal, but that's it. It's very time consuming and when it comes to food sometimes I don't feel like I'm saving much for all the work I'm doing.
I need to get back on track though, and if any of you guys have tips I would love to hear them.  I feel like I've hit a slump.  Usually I don't get free time till 9pm or 10pm and I've been having a hard time working out then.  Some days my mom comes over and I usually workout when she's here, but the other days are hard. On a good note I'm down one size in jeans, but I think maybe I was just wearing the wrong size to begin with. Hopefully next week will go better.

CVS trip

So I went to CVS today since I needed formula and got all this for $31.36.
Two 23.2 once cans of Gerber formula
Schick hydro razors 4 count
Schick intuition razors 3 count
Kotex U tampons 18ct
Edge shaving cream
Two softsoaps
Softsoap body wash
Before coupons total was about $90 then with coupons I got it down to $31.36 plus I got $14 in ECB for my next trip.  They were sold out of some items, so I really need to start going sooner it seems sale items are selling out a lot quicker lately.  Anyone else feel that way?
Goodnight:)

Cheap shopping trip

I went to CVS today and was so excited with how much money I saved. I came home and told my husband, but he was not nearly as impressed as I was (I think talking about coupons bores him).
So here's what I got:
3 12 packs of pepsi (Rory's christening is coming up so I'm trying to stock up on cheap pop)
Venus razor
Gillette shave gel
2 tubes of crest toothpaste
2 cartons of Edy's ice cream
A box of Edy's popsicles
All for $5.40 plus $14 in ECB for my next trip that's why I love CVS.
Who would have thought I would find saving money so exciting? If you asked me a few years ago I probably would have just laughed because I never even thought of using coupons. If I didn't have money I would just put things on credit cards, but then I realized you really have to pay those off one day. How was I to know, they handed them out like candy in college with $10,000 limits and all I had was a part time job working a couple days a week. Now we no longer have credit card debt and I plan on it staying that way. So, now I try to find ways to save money any way we can and I actually enjoy it:)

Shopping

Today we went to one of my favorite stores Target because we had to get a birthday gift for a party tomorrow. I haven't been there in awhile and ended up spending way more then necessary.  One of the things I realized about trying to save money is to always go to the store with a list and try to stick to it.  That's always the hard part for me is sticking to a list, especially at Target.  Today I had no list at all, so I ended up spending too much and probably bought stuff we didn't even need. I find if I plan my trips I spend less, plus it's less stressful because bringing kids to the store can be stressful enough.  So, usually on Sundays I try to go through the sales paper and coupons and decide on one grocery store and one drug store to go to that week depending on coupons and what we need. One store I have started to love is CVS with coupons and ECBs (extra care bucks) you can get tons of toiletries super cheap. I used to only go there if I needed something quick, and go to Target for my main shopping. I have found though that I can get stuff cheaper at CVS lots of times, plus I don't do as much impulse shopping there since they don't have as much fun stuff.  As I said before I'm just learning to coupon and I don't expect extreme couponing results (I don't think that show is very realistic for the average person). I get excited if I can save $20 or more on a trip, and slowly I'm getting better and better at it. Any advice would be appreciated if you've been doing it for awhile as well.
Thanks:)
