What 18 months is like..

I know they always warn you about the terrible twos, but I'm not sure if anyone told you it all starts at 18 months. Your once cooperative, easy going child turns into a little one with an opinion about everything and wants you to know it. Liam went through this phase as well, and I know that's all it is, but it does make things a little more difficult. Some things Declan no longer likes are putting on a coat, wearing a hat, diaper, pants, you name it he probably doesn't like to wear it. Also he does not like mom or dad to sing or dance so if we do  he yells No, stop until we do, which I know it makes him crazy when we do it but I find it kind of hilarious. He also loves cars and must have one, preferably two in his hands at all times or he runs around saying car until we find them and usually he wants a specific one, but which one that is changes all the time. I know it's him just claiming his independence and also being frustrated since he can't always vocalize what he wants or needs, but it's funny how it seems overnight he changed from a cooperative, easy going guy to a strong willed, independent toddler. Time seems to be racing by in the blink on an eye.

  1. I definitely don't look forward to the defiance I know I'll face coming from my child. At least your son is simply adorable though! :)

  4. The Terrible Two's can start as early as 16 months and then linger on, turning into the Torturous Three's and the Feisty Fours. Then magically they phase right into the Fabulous Fives, and from then on out they are simply angels.

    Ha! I wish.

The truth is, every age can be a challenge. But it's very hard to "reason" with a toddler. And that is why God made them SO. DARN. CUTE. If they weren't so darn cute, well... we would probably all have just one child :)

I'm a new follower of your blog. Stopped by from the Monday hop :)
