I think fall is back

While the weather has been beautiful in Chicago, I know it won't last long, but we're enjoying it while it's here. Today was a rainy day though and it reminds me of the cold weather to come. In the back of my mind I am thinking about all the cold, rainy, and snowy days ahead. I read it's suppose to be the worst Chicago winter in a long time, so I need to do some preparing because unless we have some activities to do indoors, there's going to be 3 crazy kids and one crabby mommy.
So I plan on making a trip to the store soon to buy some stuff and start getting some projects and activities ready. I'll be posting what I come up with, but I'd love to hear any of your ideas especially for toddlers since most of the stuff I'm familiar with is for preschool age kids.  What do use guys have planned for the winter months?

  1. I'm your newest follower. I'm originally from the North(Indiana), so I know all about that cold snowy (indoor activity) weather. Something you could try is a puppet show. Put a curtain up in a doorway to make the puppet theater, and hand make puppets with the kids helping. There are tons of recipes online to make homemade play doh that was always fun. Another cute thing is to save all your TP rolls (use as bowling pins) and wad up socks (use as bowling balls) and you've got an indoor bowling ball. Hope you post some pics of your snow this year gosh I miss it. Have a great day!

  3. Such a great idea! I'm dreading the winter months myself and also need to find some great toddler activities. I have found tons of preschool age things but they're just a little to old for my sweet girl yet. I'm going to bookmark this post and let you know what I find.
~Love the bowling alley idea above...~
Good luck in your search and can't wait to share ideas!
